HOT DOG I DID! The once illiterate teen is soon to be author and could you tell that I am excited. My first book, The Power of a Promise, will soon be available, anytime now. If anyone is interested, I wanted to dedicate this blog page to sharing some info with you about the book. So please check back next week and I will post and post some more each week until the book is through the print process.

Right now, here is what I can tell you. The book is in the cover polish stage. I have already won 2 notable awards: The Editor’s Choice Award which will distinguish my book as preferred reading (so I am told) and I also think the back cover will have a big gold star on it. Wow! The last star I got was back in my ghetto school in Bed Stuy when the teachers gave students gold stars beside their names if you did not create a disturbance in the class. You could have quiet conversation; play cards, or tick tack toe. You just couldn’t act out. At the end of the year if you got enough stars then you were promoted from grade to grade without the foggiest idea of how to properly read or write. So how, I think that this Editor’s Choice Gold Star will actually mean something! But don’t’ me digress too much.

The other notable award that The Power of a Promise has been selected for is the Rising Star Award. (Suddenly I like stars) I am told that this means my book will potentially be made available through the major book stores like Chapters and Indigo and Online and maybe I will be able to sell it through my website.
