In my very first blog I get to share with you some exciting news about the upcoming publication of my new book, The Power of a Promise. The book is in the cover polish stage. I am not exactly sure when that means it will be in my hand, but that sounds pretty close to me. Check back here, as I will be posting updates as I get them from here on in. I know that lots of people have been emailing me, asking about publication date and availability. This form will hopefully be a good tool to ensure you know the current status. But I have to share some news about the book with you because I didn’t see it coming: The Power of a Promise has already received two honorable distinctions: the “Editor’s Choice Award” and the “Rising Star Award”. WOW! Oprah, here I come again and this time it is all about me!
Forgive me while I brag just a little bit. The kid that couldn’t read or write at the age of 15, is now going to be an author. To me, this is a phenomenal achievement, not only because I have been writing this book for the past 7 years, but also because I never gave up on the dream of one day penning my very own book. I am excited mostly because I hope that the Power of a Promise is an inspiration to every kid out there who has been told that they are “stupid” and wouldn’t amount to much. I hope this book inspires anyone who is working away but losing sight of the importance of hard work and never giving up.

I look forward to reading your book.
Lersa, I am excited to see what you have too offer next. I am a 29 year old female, who has always dreamed of becoming an attorney. I’ve had many obstacle to overcome and, I just was not afforded the oppurtunity to reach those goals. I look forward to one day motivating youth about the obstacles in ife and how to overcome them, because although I didn’t make it to be an attorney, I still feel that I can do it when the oppurtunity presents itself again. I must say that I thank God for sparing my life and blessing us with inspirational figures like yourself….I can’t wait for the Power of a Promise!!!!
Lesra,
Its so awesome to see you doing all of the things that your Canadian hosts knew you would at such a young age. Yours and mine are stories of overcoming and perseverance and I hope you keep touching peoples lives! Great work!!!
Great work!
Lesra,
I want to start out by saying what a fan i am of what you have done and for what you are continuing to do. I myself have had a rough life with being in and out of prison and with a drinking problem. Now at the age of 33 i own a business and am trying to move forward each and every day. This may sound a bit corny but the movie did in fact inspire me to become what i am today. I want to say thank you and i wish you the best in what you are doing now. Continue to inspire because if you can reach a hard head like me you can do anything. Rise from the dead and move on!!
